The LittleBIG Connection team is delighted to have you onboard!
Below, you will find all the best practices that will allow you to stand out on the platform.
Profile: 3 things to keep in mind before starting a project
In order to meet the needs of the customers, it is essential you respect what’s being asked by the client in the Request For Proposal (RFP).
HARD SKILLS
Make sure you have the correct level of expertise on technical skills (including all frameworks for programming languages).SOFT SKILLS
Attitude and soft skills are important and can sometimes make a difference. However, stay
humble and let the client judge if your consultant is a good fit in the team.EXPERIENCE
Be sure to respect the experience level indicated in the RFP.
• Junior: up to 3
• Confirmed: 3 to 6 years
• Senior: 6 to 8 years
• Expert: +8 years
4 things to do to gain credibility with clients
- Hourly rate
Choosing your consultant’s hourly rate is fundamental. If it’s considered too high, your room for negotiation and your positioning might be impacted. You risk not winning the RFP. - Availability
Make sure you double check the requested availabilities and the status on the RPFs before sending your consultant’s profile to the client. - Location
Check the project’s location indicated on the RPF and make sure your consultant is comfortable with it. - Interest
Verify your consultant’s interest for the project before applying. Him refusing the project later might impact your credibility towards the client.
Keep those in mind, they can make a big difference in the start of your project.
Profile evaluation
Application considered out of topic by the client. (Example : a junior Java developer positioned on a project manager project)
• 1st off topic: warning
• 2nd off topic: ban on applying for 4 days
• 3rd off topic: ban on applying for 8 days
• 4th off topic: ban on applying for 12 days
• 5th off topic: ban on ever applying
• Out of budget
• Skills problem
• Availability problem
• Other (to follow-up with the client)
The client wished to meet with your consultant.
